Pre-Season Tennis Rankings include four Aggie tennis players

The Texas A&M men's tennis team finished ranked #10 in the country in the spring and four Aggies are listed among the nation's best in the 2010-11 preseason Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA)

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Texas A&M men's tennis team finished ranked #10 in the country in the spring and four Aggies are listed among the nation's best in the 2010-11 preseason Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings for singles and doubles.

Senior three-time All-American Austin Krajicek (Brandon, FL) is the top-ranked Big 12 tennis player in singles coming in ranked #12 overall. Krajicek, the Co-Big 12 Player of the Year last spring, posted a 19-7 record at the No. 1 position last spring.

Senior Jeff Dadamo (Tampa, FL) posted an overall record of 18-9 last spring playing mainly on the #2 line. Dadamo, the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year and All-Big 12 selection last spring, is ranked #22 in the preseason singles poll.

Senior Alexey Grigorov (Moscow, Russia) is ranked #120 in the singles poll. He compiled an overall mark of 21-5 in play last spring with a 14-5 mark in the #4 position which earned him the Big 12 No. 4 singles title.

In doubles, the dynamic duo of Krajicek and Dadamo are listed at #4. The pair compiled a mark of 19-9 in #1 doubles play last spring earning All-America honors.

The fourth Aggie to be listed is Niall Angus (London, England) who will be teamed with Grigorov and the duo is ranked #46 in the preseason listings. Angus teamed with several teammates in doubles action last spring,

The Aggies open the 2010-11 schedule next week with several members of the team competing in the Costa Mesa Futures Tournament in Costa, Mesa, California.

The Aggies finished with an overall record of 25-7 last spring, the second-most wins in school history, including 18 coming over ranked foes. Head coach Steve Denton along with assistant coach Bob McKinley led the team to the final ranking of #10, the highest finish for an Aggie men's tennis team since the 2001 team ended the year ranked #7.
