A Tyler, Texas, native majoring in business, Kastmo has help lead the Aggies to a 19-6 record from her right-side hitter position where she averages 2.66 kills per set while hitting .305. She has played in all but one set and started all but five matches this season and was named to the all-tournament team at both the Portland/Nike Invitational and the Texas A&M Invitational. She has led the Aggies in kills in six matches, including a match-high 16 kills while hitting .371 in the Aggies' 3-1 win at Baylor on Wednesday.
A member of the 2010 Academic All-Big 12 First Team, Kastmo also is a two time Camps/Texas A&M Scholar Athlete. She is A&M's first player to receive academic all-district honors from CoSIDA since Jen Woods was named to the second team in 2007.
The Academic All-District 7 Team, consisting of six members on the first team and eight on the second team, was selected by members of CoSIDA in the district, which encompasses the states of Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming. To be eligible for nomination for academic all-district honors, student-athletes must be a starter or key reserve playing in at least 50 percent of their team's scheduled contests, have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average and have achieved at least sophomore status.
Kastmo and the Aggies return to action Saturday as they host Missouri at Reed Arena. First serve is slated for 1 p.m.
