COLLEGE STATION-The Texas A&M horsemanship team earned national recognition last month when it was featured in the January edition of the American Quarter Horse Journal.

Aggie horsemanship coach Beth Bass took readers step-by-step through the 2011 National Collegiate Equestrian Association finals pattern, one that lifted A&M to its third consecutive western national team championship.

Since switching to the head-to-head format adopted by the NCEA in the fall of 2006, A&M's horsemanship team has easily seen the most success of any team in the country. The Aggie horsemanship squad has compiled a 76-12 record and has won 24 of 25 postseason competitions-helping lead A&M to western national team titles in four of the last five seasons.

In her seventh year with the equestrian program, Bass has helped the Aggies to four team titles and six individual national titles, establishing the A&M horsemanship team as the country's best.

The world's largest single-breed monthly publication, The American Quarter Horse Journal has served the industry as the most valued resource for critical news, timely information and insightful articles for more than 60 years.
