Six Aggies Advance at the ITA Texas Regional

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M men's tennis team advanced six players across singles and doubles at the ITA Texas Regional at the Mitchell Tennis Center Saturday.
The Maroon & White picked up six singles wins on the day to advance to the round of 32. Leading the way were nationally-ranked Aggies No. 34 Alex Frusina, No. 110 Kholo Montsi and No. 122 Tiago Pires. Senior Togan Tokac, junior Lathan Skrobarcek and redshirt sophomore Ritesh Patil rounded out the singles wins. No Aggie who won in Saturday's action dropped a set.
The Aggies split doubles results, with two duos heading to the round of 16. Eighth-seeded Skrobarcek and Frusina topped Oskar Grzegorzewski and Ben Chetewy Ungar of Rice, 8-4. Montsi and Patil clinched the last win of the day over Texas Tech's Ludovico Vaccari and Felipe Pagnacco, 8-5.
Both doubles matches are set to start at 9 a.m. tomorrow morning, with Skrobarcek and Frusina taking on Matthieu Coignet and Mikel Garmendia of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Montsi and Patil will face SMU's Trevor Svajda and Georgi Georgiev. Frusina, Skrobarcek and Tokac start singles at 10:30 a.m. with Patil, Pires and Montsi to follow at 12 p.m.
