Reed Named Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Player of the Week

TYLER, Texas – Texas A&M quarterback Marcel Reed was named the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award National Player of the Week following his standout performance in the Aggies' 45-42 road win at Arkansas, the organization announced Tuesday.
Reed accounted for four touchdowns while guiding No. 5 Texas A&M to its first win in Fayetteville since 2012. The redshirt sophomore completed 23-of-32 passes for 280 yards and three touchdowns, while adding 55 rushing yards and a score on six carries. Reed led the Aggies to touchdowns on six of their first eight drives as A&M improved to 7-0 overall and 4-0 in SEC play
The Nashville, Tennessee, native, has been a driving force behind a strong Aggie offense that ranks No. 17 nationally in total offense (464.0) and in the top 30 in passing efficiency, scoring, red zone offense and time of possession. He has posted a pass efficiency rating above 140.0 in six of seven games, including a career-best 176.3 rating last week at Arkansas. Reed ranks No. 25 nationally in pass efficiency (156.0).
Reed sits No. 21 nationally and fourth in the SEC in total offense with 287.3 yards per game, while he has accounted for 19 total touchdowns (15 passing, 4 rushing) this season.
Texas A&M stays on the road for a 6:30 p.m. CT league matchup against the LSU Tigers on Saturday, Oct. 25.
