Denton Signs No. 1 Texas Recruit Quattro
Nov 12, 2025 | Men's Tennis
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M's men's tennis head coach Steve Denton announced the signing of James Quattro to the Aggies' 2026-27 roster Wednesday.
Quattro is the No. 1 recruit in Texas and No. 15 in the nation, according to tennisrecruiting.net. He is a blue-chip recruit with a 12.69 UTR.
"James is a very talented tennis player from Austin, Texas, who has a great work ethic, loves to compete and will fit well into our culture and system next fall," Denton said. "James has weapons in his game and the ability to play aggressively, especially with his forehand on big points, which is a great trait for a young tennis player. I see him eventually as a good all-court player. He will fit in well with our team and make an immediate impact."
Quattro won three consecutive Texas Slam championships, including the 14U in 2022, 16U in 2023 and 18U in 2024.
"I'm super excited to have the opportunity to be a part of Texas A&M's tennis program," Quattro said. "I'm grateful for the chance to join such a strong and successful program supported by incredible coaches and a great community. I'm looking forward to giving it my all in representing the team and the University as whole. Gig'Em!"
