Swimming & Diving Holds Annual Team Banquet

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M swimming & diving team celebrated its 2024-25 season at the annual team banquet Sunday afternoon. After announcing team awards, seniors reflected on their time at A&M and team captains for the 2025-26 season were announced.
Connor Foote earned the Most Valuable Aggie Award after an impressive junior season that saw him take down all three of his own individual school records, while also helping three relay squads lower program-best times. Foote clocked lifetime bests of 44.34 in the 50 free and 18.67 in the 100 fly to place fourth and fifth, respectively, at SEC Championships and set new school records. He added ninth-place points for the Aggies at SECs with a then-school record time of 41.47 but later in the same session, he lowered it again, clocking in at 41.47 as the 400 free relay leadoff. The San Antonio, Texas, native went on to earn Honorable Mention All-America recognition with a 10th-place finish in the 50 free at NCAA Championships, while also helping the 200 medley and 400 free relay notch top-16 finishes. Foote and his 200 free relay teammates earned a spot on the podium and All-America honors with an eighth-place finish at NCAAs, going a school record time of 1:15.25.
Else Praasterink brought home the Team MVP Award following her lone season in Aggieland. The graduate transfer capped off her collegiate career with All-America accolades after placing eighth on platform at NCAA Championships with a score of 278.00. She added key points for the Aggies at SECs, placing fourth on platform with a score of 303.50 and seventh on 3-meter with a score of 319.35. Praasterink, who hails from Eindhoven, Netherlands, posted a season-best score of 339.08 on platform, the second-highest score in program history, adding a top-10 all-time and career-best score of 348.08 on 3-meter in the dual meet against Florida.
Ben Scholl and Hannah O'Leary received the Most Improved Awards for their respective squads after big sophomore seasons. Scholl returned to NCAA Championships to become a six-time All-American. He helped the 200 free relay notch an eighth-place finish with a school record time of 1:15.25 and added top-16 finishes in the 200 medley and 400 free relays. The Cypress, Texas, native became just the second Aggie to clock a sub-19.0 50 free when he used a time of 18.97 to place 10th at SEC Championships, also adding points with an 18th-place finish clocking a personal-best 42.26 in the 100 free. O'Leary made her return to SEC Championships in her second season in Aggieland, advancing to the finals in all three of her individual events. The Round Rock, Texas, native lowered her personal bests in all three finals, placing 13th in the 400 IM (4:11.89), 18th in the 200 breast (2:10.50) and 22nd in the 200 IM (1:58.44).
