Aggie Trio Claims All-Central Region Honors

NORMAN, Oklahoma – Three members of the Texas A&M men's golf team were recognized on the PING All-Central Region Team announced by the GCAA in the middle of the NCAA Championship.
Wheaton Ennis, Michael Heidelbaugh and Phichaksn Maichon earned the honor for their prolific 2024-25 campaign. It marked the first all-region for Ennis and Heidelbaugh while Maichon picked up the award for the third time.
Ennis enjoyed a stellar rookie campaign, claiming SEC All-Freshman recognition. He earned SEC Freshman of the Week on three occasions. The Eagle, Idaho, product checks in at No. 83 in the Scoreboard Rankings powered by Clippd. He recorded four top-six finishes on the season, including fourth at the Louisiana Classics and fifth at the Aggie Invitational. He placed 16th at the SEC Championship and won two of his three match play rounds as the Maroon & White advanced to the league final.
Heidelbaugh came on strong in his final season, cracking the top 100 of the national rankings for the first time in his career. The Dallas, Texas native helped the Aggies earn an NCAA Championship spot with his 10th-place showing at the Auburn Regional. He registered a 13th place finish at the SEC Championship and won two match play contests as the Aggies advanced to the finals. He added a sixth-place effort at the Southern Highlands Collegiate and a ninth-place result at the SeaBest Invitational.
Finishing No. 6 PGA TOUR University ranking, Maichon capped off a successful 2024-25 campaign by finishing runner-up at the NCAA Championship, the highest finish ever for an Aggie. He registered victories at the Sea Best Invitational and the Aggie Invitational and finished in the top 10 in eight of his last nine events, including a third-place effort at the SEC Championship. Maichon was named All-SEC First Team in April.
Maichon earned PING All-America Third Team status last season and owns four career collegiate titles. The Bangkok, Thailand native his enjoyed international success, claiming the clinching match for Team Asia-Pacific as they won the Bonallack Trophy in December and earning his second Arnold Palmer Cup invitation. With his PGA TOUR University ranking, Maichon earned Korn Ferry Tour status for the remainder of 2025.
