Maichon Honored as Gary Player Award Finalist

NORMAN, Okla. – Texas A&M standout Phichaksn Maichon was one of five Division I finalists for the 2025 Gary Player International Golfer of the Year Award presented by FlightScope as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America Tuesday.
In recent weeks, Maichon has claimed honors as Golfweek All-America First Team and PING All-America Second team.
The Bangkok, Thailand, native capped off a successful 2024-25 campaign by finishing runner-up at the NCAA Championship, the best performance ever for an Aggie. He registered victories at the SeaBest Invitational and the Aggie Invitational and placed in the top 10 in eight of his last nine events, including a third-place effort at the SEC Championship.
Finishing No. 9 in the Scoreboard National Player Rankings powered by Clippd, Maichon was named All-SEC First Team in April and PING All-Central Region in May. Maichon ended his collegiate career with four tournament victories.
Maichon finished No. 6 in the final PGA TOUR University Ranking to earn his Korn Ferry Tour card for the remainder of the 2025 campaign. He made his debut last weekend with a 56th place result at the BMW Charity Pro-Am in Greer, South Carolina. Maichon scheduled to play his second pro tournament this week at the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Wichita Open at Crestview Country Club.
