Maichon Finishes Sixth in PGA TOUR University Ranking
Jun 02, 2025 | Men's Golf
CARLSBAD, Calif. – Texas A&M standout Phichaksn Maichon was slotted No. 6 in the final PGA TOUR University rankings. The finish expedites Maichon's pathway to professional golf.
Golfers who finished between Nos. 6-10 in the PGA Tour U rankings earned a spot in the Korn Ferry Tour for the remainder of the 2025 season. If their performance in the Korn Ferry Tour in 2025 does not qualify them for the PGA TOUR or Korn Ferry Tour for 2026, they will claim a spot in PGA TOUR Americas through the Latin American Swing.
Maichon also received an exemption into the Second Stage of the PGA Tour Q-School presented by Korn Ferry.
The Bangkok, Thailand, native is slated to make his professional debut Thursday. Maichon is in the field for the Korn Ferry Tour's BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD Synnex contested at Carolina Country Club and Thornblade Club in Greer, South Carolina.
Maichon capped off a successful 2024-25 campaign by finishing runner-up at the NCAA Championship, the best performance ever for an Aggie. He registered victories at the SeaBest Invitational and the Aggie Invitational and placed in the top 10 in eight of his last nine events, including a third-place effort at the SEC Championship.
Finishing No. 9 in the Scoreboard National Player Rankings powered by Clippd, Maichon was named All-SEC First Team in April and PING All-Central Region in May. Maichon earned PING All-America Third Team status last season and ended his collegiate career with four tournament victories.
