CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Texas A&M's Cayetana Fernández García-Poggio, Kynadie Adams, Mia Nixon and Sky Sudberry were named to the 2024-25 WGCA All-American Scholar Team, the organization announced Monday.
The Women's Golf Coaches Association recognizes student-athletes who boast a cumulative GPA of 3.5-or-higher and have played in at least 50% of the team's rounds throughout the year. This year, 1,499 student-athletes were honored from 403 programs across the country.
Fernández García-Poggio earned her second career WGCA All-American Team recognition. The sophomore garnered All-SEC First Team honors this season and was also a Golfweek Third Team All-American while securing WGCA Honorable Mention All-America status. The Madrid, Spain, native secured a spot on the Texas A&M Athletics Legacy Awards All-Academic Team for having the highest cumulative GPA on the women's golf team.
Adams also locked in the second WGCA All-American Team honor of her career. The junior competed in her first season with the Aggies this year, playing 30 rounds and securing five top 30 finishes during the 2024-25 campaign.
Nixon also earned her second All-American Scholar Team nod and Sudberry made the squad for the first time in her career. The pair played in 26 and 24 rounds, respectively, for the Aggies this year and helped lead the program to its fourth straight NCAA regional appearance.
Head coach Gerrod Chadwell saw four players earn WGCA All-American Scholar Team status for the second consecutive year. Only once before his appointment in 2021 did the program have four honorees in the same season.
