BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M men's golf team faces a challenging and diverse five-tournament fall schedule which includes some of the nation's most elite fields and prestigious courses, head coach Brian Kortan announced Monday.
The Maroon & White play in five states over the span of 49 days in September and October.
The Aggies lift the lid on the 2025-26 campaign at the Gopher Invitational slated for Sept. 7-8 at Windsong Farm Golf Club in Maple Plain, Minnesota. Windsong Farm has earned national recognition as one of the top modern courses in the nation. Texas A&M is joined by South Carolina as the two SEC squads in the tournament. The 15-team field, also boasts four Big Ten squads, including the Nebraska, Rutgers and Wisconsin along with the host Gophers. Iowa State, Louisville and West Virginia also represent the power conferences.
On Sept. 19-21, the Maroon & White travel to a suburb of Chicago to play in the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational at Olympia Fields Country Club. One of the best courses in the Midwest, Olympia Fields has hosted four major championships, including two U.S. Opens and two PGA Championships. Last year's tournament featured 11 of the top 20 teams in the nation.
Aggie fans in the Dallas-Fort Worth region have an opportunity to support the squad at the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational at Colonial Country Club. The Fort Worth course hosts an elite field Sept. 30-Oct. 1. One of the premier courses in the nation, Colonial has hosted an annual PGA Tour event since 1946 with the Charles Schwab Challenge contest every May. The course has also hosted a U.S. Open and U.S. Women's Open. This year's edition features a 15-team field with 13 squads landing last season's top 25.
Texas A&M heads to prestigious Erin Hills for the Marquette Invitational Oct. 5-7. The course was designed to accommodate the 2017 U.S. Open – in terms of both the challenge to the players and the logistics of the spectators. This year it played host to the U.S. Women's Open. The Aggies have won the tournament on two previous occasions, including 2017 and 2021.
The Maroon & White wrap up the autumn portion of the schedule with their first appearance at the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational on Oct. 25-26. Hosted by South Alabama, the tournament is contested at Steelwood Country Club in nearby Loxley. The Jerry Pate-designed loop consistently ranked as one of the top courses in the state.
The Aggies head into 2025-26 with seven returning letterwinners, including GCAA Freshman All-American Wheaton Ennis (No. 82) and rising junior Aaron Pounds (No. 163) who both finished in the top 170 on the Clippd National Rankings. A pair of newcomers join the squad, including 2024 Texas Junior Amateur champion Shiv Parmar and 2022 Pepperdine transfer Kris Kuvaas (No. 265).
Texas A&M looks to build on the success of the 2024-25 campaign. The Maroon & White finished 11th at the NCAA Championship and posted runner-up finishes at the SEC Championship and the NCAA Auburn Regional. Ol' Sarge's charges claimed three tournament titles, including the Furman Intercollegiate, SeaBest Invitational and Aggie Invitational.
