
Three Aggies Named Golfweek Preseason All-Americans

ORLANDO – Texas A&M's Vanessa Borovilos, Cayetana Fernández García-Poggio and Scarlett Schremmer were named Golfweek Preseason All-Americans, the organization announced Thursday.
Borovilos was voted to the second team to lead the Maroon & White. The Canadian was a WGCA and Golfweek Honorable Mention All-American last season, as well as an All-SEC Second Team selection. The sophomore set a U.S. Women's Amateur record this offseason for a single round, shooting a 9-under 63 on the final day of stroke play at the historic event.
Fernández García-Poggio is the highest ranked Aggie on the World Amateur Golf Ranking at No. 36 and earned a spot on the third team. The Spaniard was a 2025 Golfweek Third Team All-American and All-SEC First Teamer. Fernández García-Poggio posted a 71.33 stroke average last season, which was fourth-best in program history.
Schremmer also landed on the third team and was the No. 1 American recruit in the 2025 class. The Birmingham, Alabama, native highlighted the No. 2 recruiting class in the country that was signed by head coach Gerrod Chadwell.
The Maroon & White's three preseason All-Americans begin the season at The Carmel Cup at the historic Pebble Beach Golf Links Aug. 29-31. Live stats for the event can be followed at scoreboard.clippd.com.
