
Rinderknech Faces No. 2 Alcaraz in US Open Round of 16

QUEENS, N.Y. – Texas A&M men's tennis pro Arthur Rinderknech advanced to the round of 16 of the 2025 US Open after defeating fellow Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi, 4-6,6-3, 6-3, 6-2, Friday.
After dropping the first set to No. 51 Bonzi, No. 81 Rinderknech won three-straight sets to pull off the upset. The 2018 graduate is now set to face No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz in Arthur Ashe Stadium Sunday with first serve not before 12:30 p.m. on ESPN. The Spaniard is 3-0 against Rinderknech.
Rinderknech is making personal history as this win marks the deepest run for the Aggie at the US Open. After picking up three top-20 wins this summer, Rinderknech picked up his fourth after defeating No. 18 Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the second round.
