No. 3 Aggies to Host Watch Party April 8 on Final Day of “Mo” Morial Invitational
Mar 26, 2026 | Women's Golf
BRYAN – The No. 3 Texas A&M women's golf team will host a watch party at the 18th green of Traditions Club Wednesday, April 8 during the final round of the "Mo" Morial Invitational from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
The watch party will feature free admission, parking, food and drinks, along with exclusive Reveille golf shirts and other team giveaway items. Additionally, Reveille X will be in attendance as well as the Texas A&M Yell Leaders.
This year's "Mo" Morial Invitational will be the 22nd installment of the tournament and is scheduled for 54 holes of competition from April 6-8. It is named in honor of Aggie great Monica Welsh who tragically passed away in an auto-mobile accident in 1992 and was a four-year letter winner for the Aggies from 1978-82. She was a two-time TAIAW All-State selection and set the then-record for low competitive round (68) in 1981 at the TAIAW State Championship. The Aggies have finished first an event-best eight times, including a tournament-record 38-stroke victory last season.
The Maroon & White are led by All-Americans Cayetana Fernández García-Poggio and Vanessa Borovilos. Both golfers will be appearing at this year's prestigious Augusta National Women's Amateur April 1-4 prior to the coming home for the "Mo". Fernández García-Poggio is the reigning champion of the "Mo" and has a team-best 71.1 stroke average.
The Aggies, led by head coach Gerrod Chadwell, have won four tournaments this season and claimed three other runner-up finishes. The "Mo" will be the team's final regular season event before the SEC Championships begin April 17-21.
