BIRMINGHAM – Texas A&M track & field's Michael Moiben was named SEC Freshman of the Week following his school-record showing at the Raleigh Relays, the league announced Tuesday.
Moiben earned his first career SEC weekly honor, after shattering a 41-year-old school record in the 10,000m set by Texas A&M Hall of Fame member and Olympian Arturo Barrios. In his collegiate outdoor debut, he recorded a time of 28:28.90 which was good for fourth in the event and first among freshmen. The mark ranks him fourth nationally and first in the conference
Moiben and the Aggies stay on the road and head to the Battle on the Bayou, April 3-4, held at the Bernie Moore Track Stadium in Baton Rouge.
