COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M soccer team strengthened its offensive fire power with the addition of San Diego State transfer Ciara Jade Mitchell, head coach Bobby Shuttleworth announced Monday.
"We're excited to welcome Jade to the Texas A&M soccer program," Shuttleworth said. "She brings a strong drive to improve and develop every day, and that mindset fits in well with our environment."
Mitchell is a forward whose dynamic playing style earned her 15 appearances last season as a freshman with the Aztecs, including nine starts. In 604 minutes, she recorded 23 shots, including 12 on goal, which tied for the third-most on the team.
In addition to her success on the field, Mitchell also excelled in the classroom, earning Mountain West All-Academic honors for her athletic and academic achievements.
With dual citizenship, the Vancouver, British Columbia product earned a spot qualified for the Jamaica U20 National Team. She earned her first senior call-up to the Reggae Girlz roster for a friendly against England in 2025.
"Her international experiences have been invaluable to her development and will also bring a valuable perspective to our program." Shuttleworth said. "She is a versatile attacker who can impact the game in multiple ways, and her dynamic playing style allows her to create and exploit opportunities in the final third."
On the club level she most recently made two appearances with Vancouver Rise FC of the Northern Super League after playing with Vancouver Rise FC Academy and Altitude in the British Columbia Premier League (BCPL). She scored 12 goals in 29 appearances in the BCPL.
"We're thrilled to add Jade to our squad and are looking forward to supporting her continued progression." Shuttleworth said. "We're excited to see the impact she will have and the success she can achieve here at Texas A&M."
