
Baseball Announces 2026 Team Awards

COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M baseball team has announced its annual list of team awards following the conclusion of the 2026 season, as voted on by the student-athletes.
MARION PUGH MOST VALUABLE PLAYER AWARD – Gavin Grahovac
Grahovac started all 57 games for the Maroon & White between first base and third base. The junior boasted a slash line of .339/.429/.722 with 22 home runs, 16 doubles and three triples. He plated 74 RBI, scored 76 runs and stole five bases. The Orange, California, native registered a team-best 26 multi-hit games while logging 20 multi-RBI performances.
In conference play, Grahovac led the SEC in slugging percentage (.754), home runs (13), RBI (43) and runs scored (40). His 1.172 OPS in league play ranked third in the conference. Grahovac's efforts earned him nods to the All-SEC First Team and the All-SEC Defensive Team.
C.E. "PAT" OLSEN OUTSTANDING PITCHER AWARD – Clayton Freshcorn
Freshcorn was dominant out of the bullpen for the Aggies during the 2026 campaign. The right-hander owned a 4-3 record and 2.82 ERA in 27 appearances. Across 54.1 innings of work, Freshcorn struck out 56 batters while issuing just six walks. The Waller, Texas, native registered 12 saves on the year, which ranks atop the SEC and ties for third-most in a single season at Texas A&M. His seven saves in conference play are tied for most in the league.
In 26 appearances for the junior out of the bullpen, 17 went for multiple innings. Nine of Freshcorn's 12 saves were outings of multiple innings. With 14 saves in his career, Freshcorn ranks sixth on the Maroon & White's all-time leaderboard.
WALLY MOON AWARD – Aiden Sims
The Wally Moon Award, which is given annually to the player who shows the most improvement from the fall to the end of the season, was awarded to Sims.
The righty made 13 starts during the season, compiling an 8-1 record and a 3.84 ERA. In 68.0 innings of work, Sims recorded 73 punchouts while holding a 1.07 WHIP and limiting opposing batters to a .213 batters average against. The Forney, Texas, native earned SEC Pitcher of the Week honors for his seven-inning shutout performance against Vanderbilt on April 3 and was a semifinalist for the Dick Howser Trophy.
MARION PUGH SPIRIT AWARD – Josh Stewart
The Marion Pugh Spirit Award is given to the player who is most instrumental to team unity and provides valuable leadership both on and off the field.
Stewart was bestowed the prestigious honor of wearing No. 12 for the 2026 season by a team vote. A native of Georgetown, Texas, Stewart served as one of the program's most respected and vocal leaders in the clubhouse. On the field, the right-hander made five appearances, posting a 1.42 ERA with 10 strikeouts and a save. After suffering a season-ending injury in March, Stewart remained a constant presence in the locker room, providing leadership, energy and unwavering support for his teammates throughout the year.
LORAINE B. AND WILLIAM B. "BREEZY" BREAZEALE RBI AWARD – Caden Sorrell
Sorrell made 55 starts in the outfield for the Maroon & White, slashing .341/.434/.743 with 76 RBI and 67 runs scored. The lefty slugger belted 23 home runs and 20 doubles, becoming the first 20/20 player in club history since 1999. Along with high slug totals, Sorrell led the squad with 11 stolen bases. The Highland Village, Texas, native led the club with 21 multi-RBI games while also posting 23 multi-hit performances. His 32-game on-base streak was tied for the longest stretch on the team during the season.
In SEC play, Sorrell posted a .317/.399/.667 slash line with 12 doubles, 10 home runs and 35 RBI, earning selections to the All-SEC First Team and All-SEC Defensive Team. The junior etched his named into Texas A&M's record books, ranking sixth all-time in home runs (46) and 10th in RBI (151).
