
Four Aggies Named to ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Team

COLLEGE STATION – Four members of the Texas A&M Baseball team have been named to the 2026 American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings NCAA Division I Central All-Region Teams, as announced Tuesday. The teams are selected by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association, with the process overseen by the ABCA NCAA Division I All-America & Coach of the Year Committee.
Outfielder Caden Sorrell, starting pitcher Aiden Sims and relief pitcher Clayton Freshcorn earned nods to the first team, while first baseman Gavin Grahovac was selected to the second team.
Freshcorn was dominant in the closer role for the Aggies, posting a 2.82 ERA in 27 appearances. In 54.1 innings pitched, he struck out 56 batters while issuing just six walks and posted a 1.05 WHIP. The right-hander recorded 12 saves, which ranks as the most in the SEC and ties for third-most in a single season at Texas A&M. Of his 12 saves, nine were outings of multiple innings. His seven saves in conference play are tied for the most in the league.
The Waller, Texas, native was selected by his teammates as the C.E. "Pat" Olsen Outstanding Pitcher Award winner.
Grahovac earned his second ABCA/Rawlings Central All-Region Selection after posting a .339/.429/.722 slash line with 74 RBI and a team-high 76 runs scored. The junior slugged 22 home runs, 16 doubles and led the squad with three triples. In 29 conference starts, Grahovac led the SEC in slugging percentage (.754), home runs (13), RBI (43) and runs scored (40). He boasted a 1.172 OPS in conference play, which ranked third in the league. The Orange, California, native registered a team-best 26 multi-hit games while also logging 20 multi-RBI performances. His efforts in conference play earned him First Team All-SEC distinctions and a nod to the All-SEC Defensive Team.
The Aggies' first baseman was voted by his teammates as the Marion Pugh Most Valuable Player, as announced earlier this afternoon.
Sims made 13 starts for the Maroon & White in 2026, logging an 8-1 record with a 3.84 ERA and 73 strikeouts. The right-hander posted a 1.07 WHIP and limited opposing hitters to a .213 batters average against. He notched four quality starts and charted a 5-1 record in conference play. The Forney, Texas, native's most notable outing was a seven-inning shutout against Vanderbilt where he fanned eight batters and only allowed three hits, earning SEC Player of the Week Honors.

The lefty became the first player in program history since 1999 to slug 20 or more home runs and doubles, leading the team with 23 and 20, respectively. The Highland Village, Texas, native produced a team-high 21 multi-RBI performances while also logging 23 multi-hit games. In conference play, he logged a .317 batting average with 12 doubles, 10 home runs and 35 RBI. Sorrell earned selections to the All-SEC First Team and All-SEC Defensive Team at the conclusion of league play. In Texas A&M's all-time record book, Sorrell ranks sixth in home runs (46) and 10th in RBI (151).
The 2026 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division I All-America teams will be announced Friday, June 12, prior to the start of the NCAA Division I College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska. First Team All-Region selections are eligible for All-America honors.
The ABCA All-America Team was first recognized in 1949 and now spans nine divisions: NCAA Divisions I, II, and III, NAIA, NJCAA Divisions I, II, and III, the Pacific Association Division, and high school. ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams were first recognized in 2007.
