Tommy Mylnikov

Tommy Mylnikov is in his third season as assistant coach with Texas A&M women’s tennis as the Aggies embark on the 2026-27 campaign.

Texas A&M experienced great success in Mylnikov’s second year on staff, posting a 28-5 record and bringing home the second national championship in program history. The Aggies won their fifth consecutive SEC regular-season title and finished tied for third at the conference tournament. The Maroon & White have playe din the NCAA championship match in both his seasons on staff.
 
Under Mylnikov, the Aggies have produced three All-Americans including Mary Stoiana, Nicole Khirin and Lucciana Perez. Perez and Mia Kupres also landed All- SEC spots during the 2025-26 campaign. Perez earned laurels as ITA National Player of the Year and SEC Player of the Year.

Mylnikov began his tennis journey in Canada before moving to Florida at a young age to train at IMG Academy, where he played for 10 years. He was a top ranked junior, ranking as high as No. 4 by TennisRecruiting.net. Mylnikov played at Texas Tech for four years (2015-2019) on line one, where he led the Red Raiders to their first ever Big 12 championship.

After Tech, Mylnikov went on to play professionally. His biggest victories came against Frances Tiafoe, Alexander Zverev, Borna Coric and Cam Norrie. The Manitoba, Canada native has also trained under many notable coaches throughout his career. As a junior and pro he was coached by Nick Bollettieri, Brad Gilbert, Glen Weiner, Pat Harrison and Dante Bottini and at Texas Tech he was coached by James Wilson, Brett Masi and Daniel Whitehead.

Mylnikov earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Texas Tech in 2019. He added a master’s degree in business, management, marketing and related support services from the University of Oklahoma in 2023 after serving two years as director of operations for the Sooners’ men’s tennis team.
