
Hunter Seat Riders Advance to VENC Quarterfinals

WACO, Texas - The Texas A&M hunter seat squad advanced to the quarterfinal round of the Varsity Equestrian National Championships Thursday afternoon with a 7-1 win over No. 12-seed New Mexico State.
A&M won three of four rides on the flat and swept fences to cruise to victory.
The fifth-seeded Aggies will now face No. 4-seed and rival Oklahoma State in the next round, set to begin at 3:30 p.m. this afternoon. The winner will advance to Friday's semifinals.
The Aggies' two-time defending national champion western team begins action in the quarterfinals at 4 p.m. today against either Baylor or New Mexico State.
