No. 5 Aggies’ championship run ends in semifinals

WACO, Texas – No. 5 Texas A&M equestrian's season came to end in the semifinals of the NCEA Championships Saturday, falling to No. 1 Auburn, 10-6, at the Extraco Events Center.
"I couldn't be more proud of this team and how hard we fought this season," head coach Tana McKay said. "We had some great consistent rides again today that were mistake free. Our girls fought hard and I just couldn't be more proud of them."
The Aggies (11-7) took an early 3-1 after Reining as senior Hannah Jechow won the first point, defeating Hailey Munger, 141-136. Senior Ashley Dotson topped Griffin Knight, 134-131.5, before junior Sarah Kate Grider earned a 140.5-139.5 victory over Alexa Rivard.
Auburn evened the match at four after Equitation on the Flat as freshman Rebekah Chenelle earned the lone point over Ashton Alexander, 157-152.
The Tigers then took a 7-5 advantage, winning Horsemanship, 3-1. Junior Kaci Fisher defeated Megan Rauh, 148-121.5. In Equitation over Fences, senior Marlena Parker toppled Alexander, 154-130.
For their efforts at the NCEA Championships, Parker, Grider and senior Logan Pluhar were named to the All-Championship Team.
