No. 3 Aggies Dominate No. 8 South Carolina at Home, 17-2

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The No. 3 Texas A&M equestrian team delivered a dominant performance Friday afternoon, defeating No. 8 South Carolina 17-2 at the Hildebrand Equine Complex.
The Aggies (3-1) surged to an early 4-1 lead against South Carolina (2-2) in Flat. Brooke Brombach led the charge with a team-high score of 86 on Misty, earning her first MOP of the season and the fourth of her career. Devan Thomas contributed with a score of 80, while Rylee Shufelt (79.5) and Devon Thomas (77) also added valuable points for the Maroon & White.
In Reining, the Aggies blanked South Carolina 5-0 to take a commanding 9-1 lead into the halftime break. The victory in Reining improved the Maroon & White to 4-0 on the year in the event. Isabelle Gonzalez captured MOP honors for the first time with a career-high 72 on Uvalde. Gracie Casebolt (70.75) improved to 4-0 on the season with a 70.75 on Dreamer, while Mattie Gustin (71), Lauren Hanson (67.5) and Anna Harris (70) also picked up wins for the Aggies.
After the break, Texas A&M secured three points in Fences to extend their advantage to 12-2. Kate Egan posted a team-best 86 on Misty en route to her third MOP award of the season. Devon Thomas (83) and Brombach (80) also contributed wins for the Maroon & White.
In Horsemanship, the Aggies finished off the sweep of Western with a 5-0 victory to bring the final to 17-2. Ellie Gerbrandt earned MOP honors with a ride of 73.25 on Maverick, marking her fifth career MOP award and second of the season. Kaitlyn Bloom (74), Kendall Dirksen (72), Millie Landon (71.75) and Hanna Olaussen (75.25) rounded out the victory for Texas A&M.

"There was a bit of a home field advantage, but to be able to shut them out like that because of some good rides is impressive," said head coach Tana McKay. "It goes to show that these girls are consistent and it's literally just another day at the office. They are just doing their jobs."
