Aggies in the Olympics Recap: August 2

Track & Field

Bryce Deadmon and Shamier Little helped the United States break the world record in the first round of the mixed 4x400m relay, as the team crossed the line in 3:07.41 to advance to the finals as the top seed by over three seconds. The remaining two athletes in the team both hailed from SEC schools, forming an SEC world-record breaking relay.
Lindon Victor concluded the first day of the men's decathlon in sixth place, he accumulated 4,463 points across the opening five events and logged two season-best performances in the shot put and high jump.
Lamara Distin concluded her first Olympics with a 24th-place finish in the women's high jump qualification round with a clearance of 1.88m/6-2.

Swimming

Sydney Pickrem earned a spot in the 200m IM final after clocking the fifth-fastest time in the semifinal, going 2:09.65.
McKenna DeBever clocked in at 2:17.61 in the 200m IM prelims to place 29th in her Pairs Games debut.
