
Reed Named to Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Top 10 List

BALTIMORE, Md. – Texas A&M quarterback Marcel Reed was named to the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Top 10 list, the organization announced Wednesday.
Reed has been instrumental in leading the Aggies to an 8-0 start, their best since 1992. The redshirt sophomore ranks second in the SEC and No. 11 nationally in total offense with 2,321 yards (290.1 per game) and stands second in the league and ninth nationally in touchdowns responsible for with 23 (17 pass, 6 rush). Reed has completed 137-of-223 passes (61.4%) for 1,972 yards and has rushed for 349 yards on 64 attempts this season. In five SEC games, Reed is tied for the league lead with 13 touchdowns responsible for and ranks third with 11 passing touchdowns.
The Nashville, Tennessee, native has guided an Aggie offense that ranks among the nation's top 15 in scoring, averaging, 37.8 points per game, and stands No. 21 nationally in total offense at 459.3 yards per game. Texas A&M's passing attack has shown one of the most significant improvements in FBS this season, increasing by 80 yards per game through the air, which ranks as the second-largest gain in the SEC and eighth-best nationally.
The Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award is presented annually to the nation's top senior or upperclassman quarterback who is on track to graduate with their class, embodying not only outstanding on-field performance but also character, citizenship, and leadership.
Texas A&M returns to action on Nov. 8 when the Aggies close out their current three-game road swing against the Missouri Tigers in Columbia at 2:30 p.m. CT on ABC.
