BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M women's basketball team opens its 2025-26 campaign versus A&M-Corpus Christi Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. inside Reed Arena
On the court, A&M returns defensive anchor Lauren Ware who averaged 1.8 blocks per game last season and has started 58 games for the Aggies in two years. She is followed by Vanessa Saidu and Janae Kent as the only returning Aggies from last year's squad.
To back them up, the Maroon & White brought in 12 new players, including five from outside of the United States. Headlining the new group are Ny'Ceara Pryor, the transfer from Sacred Heart who led the nation in steals per game (4.1), and Fatama Janneh the transfer from Saint Peters who averaged a double-double and led the country in defensive rebounds per game (9.7) last season.
Two Aggies made it onto preseason award watchlists with Pryor appearing on the Nancy Lieberman Point Guard of the Year Watchlist and Ware appearing on the Lisa Leslie Center of the Year Watchlist. This marks the third straight season where two players have made preseason award watchlists under coach Joni Taylor.
Coach Taylor enters her fourth year at the helm and is 9-1 in season openers during her career and 20-4 during non-conference games inside Reed Arena.
