Get to know one of the Aggies below…
What was your initial transition to college like?
"It was a big change. Campus is so big, and there are a lot of differences from high school to college. Once you settle in and find your routine, it's so much fun. You get to meet so many new people in classes and just walking around. A&M has a lot of good people and great traditions to follow."
Who has had the biggest impact on your softball career?
"My dad. He coached me from a young age and taught me most of what I know. Even though I might've gotten mad at him at times for telling me things I didn't want to hear, he was always there and always knew what I needed to fix."
What are your individual and team goals for this season?
"Individually, just working my hardest and doing my best in whatever I do every day. Honestly, just leaning on God—whatever happens, it's all in His hands. As a team, we're taking it one game at a time, working hard, pushing each other and holding each other accountable. We're very competitive this year."
What has been the biggest lesson you've learned from last season to this one?
"Patience with myself and understanding that we're doing a lot of things, so it takes time to adjust—especially over four years. There's always going to be something new to work on."
Where have you seen yourself grow the most as a player, and what are some things you could still work on?
"Mentally is where I've grown the most. I focus a lot on the mental side of the game. As a catcher, we have to run the field, so knowing what everyone does and studying behind the scenes is important. I've also worked on being more strategic with my at-bats."
How has it been to play in front of the 12th Man?
"Amazing. I love the 12th Man. I'm so grateful to be at a university with such incredible student support. It's been the best experience, truly."
Where in Bryan-College Station is your favorite place to eat?
"I'm a foodie. I like a lot of different places, but the one I eat at most often is Gringo's because it's right by my house. I also love any authentic Italian place, like Luigi's."
What is your major, and what do you plan to do with it?
"I'm a psychology major, but I don't plan to use it. I recently started a minor in sport management and hope to go into the entertainment industry, though I'd also love to work for the NHL."
What's your go-to hype song before a game?
"I have a long, 12-hour playlist I pick from, but 'Dr. Feelgood' by Mötley Crüe is always one of my top ones."
If you could have dinner with one person, who would it be and why?
"Jesus, even if it was just for 10 minutes. He's my Lord and Savior, and I'd ask Him questions about myself, about Him, about what His timeline was like. Honestly, I'd probably just be crying the whole time."
If the team had a bake-off, who would you pick to be on your team?
"Grace Spaks. I don't like too many people in my kitchen, so I think I'd just pick Grace. We've actually talked about doing a pasta cook-off since she's really good in the kitchen, so we'd work well together."
