BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M women's basketball announced the signing of 2024-25 MAAC First Team selection and the nation's leading defensive rebounder Fatmata Janneh from Saint Peter's Tuesday morning.
"We are thrilled to add Fatmata to our family and the 12th Man," Head Coach Joni Taylor said. "Hailing from London, England, she is an outstanding young lady who carries herself with a vigor that manifests on and off the basketball court. She is a double-double machine — undeniably equipped for the physicality of SEC basketball. We are confident that Fatmata is a perfect fit for our culture, and I am thrilled that she is an Aggie."
Janneh was tied for seventh last season in the country with 19 double-doubles and averaged 18.2 points and 11.6 rebounds per game. The rising junior was the No. 1 defensive rebounder in the NCAA with 9.7 per contest and ranked No. 8 in rebounds per game.
The London, England, native hauled in 15+ rebounds nine times during the 2024-25 campaign, including a 21-board clinic against NJIT. The 6-2 forward also poured in 20+ points on 11 different occasions and logged 33.6 minutes per game.
Janneh has recorded 27 double-doubles throughout her career at Saint Peter's and had a 24-point, 22-rebound game during her freshman season at Marist March 2, 2024. Her freshman campaign resulted in a MAAC All-Rookie Team selection.
The elite mid-major transfer joins Kaitlyn Duhon and Lemyah Hylton as student-athletes to join the Aggies during the offseason.
