BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M volleyball team added Serbian national team middle blocker Djurdja Stanojevic to the 2025 roster, head coach Jamie Morrison announced Friday.
Stanojevic joins the Maroon & White from overseas, bringing a plethora of high level club play and international volleyball to Aggieland. The incoming freshman led her team to gold medals at both the Serbian Cup and Serbian Super Cup this past season, while also securing a pair of silver medals in both championships last year.
"We are excited to add a middle blocker that has the experience that Djurdja [Stanojevic] has," Morrison said. "I had the privilege of getting to coach against her at the U19 World Championships and since then, she has faced some of the best players in the world with her current team. She is one of the best blockers I have seen at her age, and she will add to our team on the court and as a human. We can't wait to see her in Aggieland and watch her develop over her four years here."
On the international stage, Stanojevic has been a member of the national team since 2021 and has been a part of three European Championships at the U17, U18 and U20 levels. Coach Morrison had first-hand experience competing against her at the U19 World Championships in 2023, as his United States squad faced Serbia in the group stages of the tournament.
The middle blocker put up impressive numbers in her club league, racking up 130 kills and 45 service aces offensively, while blocking 89 swings defensively in 53 appearances for OK Tent.
