Five Aggies Named NCEA All-Americans

WACO – Five members of the Texas A&M equestrian team have garnered Ariat All-America honors, as announced by the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) Tuesday afternoon.
Lauren Hanson earned first team honors in Reining, while Isabelle Gonzalez and Mattie Gustin earned a spot on the second team. In Jumping Seat, Kate Egan (Fences) and Devon Thomas (Flat) received honorable mention.
Hanson has logged an 11-4 record to go along with three MOP honors and a 69.3 scoring average in her senior season. The Clements, California, native registered a 6-2 mark against SEC foes and a 5-2 record on the road. The senior enters the NCEA National Championship with a win in six of her last seven rides.
Gonzalez holds a 9-5-1 record to go along with a 4-2-1 mark on the road for the Aggies. Against No. 8 South Carolina, the sophomore scored a career-high 72 en route to her lone MOP honor of the season. In her 15 rides, Gonzalez has totaled a 68.7 scoring average.
Gustin, who was tabbed an NCEA All-American for the second straight season, has compiled a 10-3-2 record to go along with a 70.7 scoring average. The Aledo, Texas, native has tallied three MOP honors this season and an average win margin of 1.9. Gustin was brilliant against SEC competition during the year, racking up a 6-1-1 record.
Egan has put together a strong campaign in Fences, collecting a team-best four MOPs to go along with a 7-5-3 record. The sophomore also tallied five road wins and set a regular season program record with a ride of 93 on Giovanni at No. 6 Georgia. In her 15 meets, Egan recorded an average score of 84.2.
Thomas led the Maroon & White with an 11-3-1 mark in Flat, including a 5-2-1 mark against SEC foes. The fifth-year senior has logged an average score of 79.5 on the year to go along with a 3.4 average win margin. Over her last 12 meets, the fifth-year senior has compiled a 10-1-1 record.
