Jun 12, 2025 | Women's Basketball
BRISTOL, Conn. – The Texas A&M women's basketball team is set to host Georgia Tech in the 2025 ACC-SEC Women's Basketball Challenge Wednesday, Dec. 3 inside Reed Arena, ESPN announced Thursday.
Tip time and TV designation for the game will be announced on a later date. All 16 games that are part of the challenge will be aired nationally on either ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ACC Network or SEC Network on back-to-back days from Dec. 3-4.
The Aggies are entering year four under head coach Joni Taylor. The team returns three players from last year's squad with Lauren Ware highlighting the group. Ware led the team and was third in SEC in blocks per game (1.75) during the 2024-25 campaign.
Texas A&M signed seven transfers so far this offseason to go along with the three returners and three freshmen. Among the incoming transfers are Fatmata Janneh, who led the country in defensive rebounds (9.7) last season, and the reigning MAAC Defensive Player of the Year Ny'Ceara Pryor, who produced the most steals per game in the nation (4.1) last year.
The Maroon & White are 2-0 in the ACC-SEC Challenge with an average win margin of 18.0 points in the triumphs over Wake Forest (2023) and Syracuse (2024). The two conferences tied the inaugural challenge in 2023, but the SEC came out on top last year with a 10-6 record against the ACC.
