Jun 09, 2025 | Women's Basketball
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M women's basketball announced the signing of elite 2025 French prospect Talia Kavoka Monday.
"We are thrilled to welcome Talia to the Texas A&M family," Head Coach Joni Taylor said. "Talia brings a unique international experience representing France on the national team, providing depth in the backcourt, and a relentless work ethic that aligns perfectly with the culture we are building here. We can't wait to see her grow and thrive as an Aggie."
The incoming freshman joins the 2025 recruiting class of Anita Franchini and Chaney Spencer. Kavoka is one of five international players set to compete for the Aggies during the 2025-26 campaign, joining Franchini (Italy), Lemyah Hylton (Canada), Fatmata Janneh (England) and Pien Steenbergen (Netherlands).
The Évry-Courcouronnes, France, native recently played for Lattes Montpellier during the 2024-25 Eurocup regular season. She was the youngest player on the roster that went 10-2 and she saw action in two outings.
Kavoka also competed on the 2024 FIBA U17 Women's Basketball World Cup for France where she helped her country to a fourth-place finish. The 5-6 guard averaged 5.3 points and a team-high tying 2.6 assists per game.
During the 2023 FIBA U16 Women's European Championship, Kavoka contributed to a 7-0 record for her home country of France and a gold medal. Kavoka posted 1.7 points and 1.2 assists per outing during the run.
Kavoka joins Salese Blow, Franchini, Hylton, Janneh, Emerald Parker, Ny'Ceara Pryor, Spencer, Steenbergen and Jordan Webster as new additions to the Texas A&M roster at this point. They are accompanied by returners Janae Kent, Vanessa Saidu and Lauren Ware.
