Five Aggies Selected on Final Day of MLB Draft

ATLANTA – Texas A&M's Myles Patton, Kaiden Wilson, Wyatt Henseler, Ryan Prager and Luke Jackson heard their names called on the final day of the 2025 Major League Baseball Draft from the Coca-Cola Roxy in Atlanta, Georgia.
Patton was first Aggie off the board as the junior was selected by the Boston Red Sox with the 208th pick in the seventh round. Wilson followed as the left-hander was taken in the ninth round with the 258th pick by the Miami Marlins. Three picks later, Henseler landed with the Washington Nationals.
After drafting Jace LaViolette 27th overall Sunday night, the Cleveland Guardians drafted another key member of the Aggies in Prager with the 282nd pick in the ninth round. Jackson rounded out the day two selections for the Maroon & White as the right-hander was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays with the 327th pick in the 11th round.
In total, eight members of the Texas A&M baseball program heard their names called throughout the 2025 MLB Draft. The eight selections are the most for the Maroon & White since 2016. Texas A&M is the only program in the nation to have three or more players picked in every MLB Draft since 2001.
In his lone season in Aggieland, Patton started all 15 games he appeared in and compiled a 3-5 mark with a 5.26 ERA. In 77 innings of work, the left-hander racked up 82 strikeouts to only 17 walks. Among the SEC, Patton led the league in walks allowed per nine innings (1.99) and ranked sixth in strikeout-to-walk ratio (4.82).
Wilson, a draft-eligible sophomore, appeared in 32 games for the Maroon & White during his career and racked up 43 strikeouts in 33 1/3 innings of work. In his sophomore season, the left-hander punched out 28 batters in 22 1/3 innings and logged a 4.43 ERA in 22 appearances.
Henseler started all 56 games for the Maroon & White and recorded a .319/.423/.562 slash line in his lone season in Aggieland. The graduate student registered 12 homers, a team-high 15 doubles, 19 walks, 33 RBI and 48 runs scored. The Emmaus, Pennsylvania, native also logged 16 multi-hit games and seven multi-RBI performances.
Prager, a 2024 All-American, started 15 games on the bump for the Maroon & White during the 2025 season, compiling a 4-4 record to go along with a 4.21 ERA. The left-hander struck out 73 batters to 21 walks in 83 1/3 innings of work. Prager became the 21st member of the 200-K Club at Texas A&M on March 7 as he logged his second career complete game shutout in a 19-0 win over New Mexico State.
During his career in Aggieland, Prager recorded a 14-9 mark and a 3.93 ERA in 52 appearances. In 240 1/3 innings of work, the lefty totaled 250 strikeouts and limited opponents to a .253 average.
Jackson made 26 appearances with two starts during his tenure in Aggieland, compiling a 1-0 record and a 5.74 ERA. In 26 2/3 innings of work, the right-hander struck out 28 batters.
