Lednicky, Cos-Okpalla Named to AVCA Player of the Year Watch List

LEXINGTON – Texas A&M volleyball's Logan Lednicky and Ifenna Cos-Okpalla were named to the 2025 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Player of the Year Watch List, the organization announced Tuesday.
The senior standouts continue to garner national recognition, becoming the first Aggies to be named to the Player of the Year Watch List in program history. The pair earned their second preseason nod of the year, as they were named to the Preseason All-SEC Team.
Lednicky is coming off a stellar junior campaign where she recorded the second-highest kills per set (4.47) and third-highest kill total (492) in a single season in A&M history during the rally-scoring era. The Sugar Land, Texas, native recorded 20+ kills in eight matches, including three straight in the Maroon & White's three NCAA Tournament matches, a feat only two athletes in the tournament accomplished. Lednicky carried her momentum into the spring, as she was named to the United States Volleyball Nations League roster, competing in the first two weeks of action in her first senior national team call up.
Cos-Okpalla proved herself as a versatile weapon in her third collegiate season, blocking 161 swings on the year and averaging 1.46 a set, which rank second and third, respectively, in the Maroon & White's history books. On the offensive side of the net, the Flower Mound, Texas, native crushed 228 kills, which is more than her previous two seasons combined. Cos-Okpalla's efficiency also jumped off the page, as she hit at .374 percent across the year which ranks seventh on A&M's all-time list. Like Lednicky, her performances were recognized by the national team, as she is with the U23 national team preparing for the Pan American Cup later this month in Leon, Mexico.
