No. 7 Aggies Chase Down Baylor Bears for Folds of Honor Collegiate Title
Sep 10, 2025 | Women's Golf
GRAND HAVEN, Mich. – The No. 7 Texas A&M women's golf team erased a three-shot deficit to start the final round and won the Folds of Honor Collegiate at the American Dunes Golf Club Wednesday behind freshman Brynn Kort's runner-up performance.
"Winning is hard, but it just makes me happy to see them playing well," head coach Gerrod Chadwell said. "It was impressive to see the team be comfortable in this setting because I know it only gets harder from here. I am very proud of Brynn, and it shows that it pays off to play summer golf. You get comfortable with your game by playing and really our whole team did that this summer. I am excited about the win and to see how we improve moving forward."
The victory made history for the program, marking the first time that the Aggies had won the first two tournaments of the season. Their first triumph came in a 26-stroke win at the Carmel Cup at the Pebble Beach Golf Links.
The Maroon & White was back three shots of Baylor to start the day and had evened the score at the turn. Texas A&M never relented and won with a 7-over 871 which was three strokes better than the Bears (+10).
Kort locked in the first runner-up finish of her career after firing a 2-under 70 in the final round and shooting 3-under 214 for the tournament. Sky Sudberry took home a share of fifth with her 1-under 71 on Wednesday. The junior matched her career-best finish on the leaderboard and turned in a 54-hole score of 1-over 217.
Cayetana Fernández García-Poggio fired a 1-under 71 in the third round to secure a piece of 12th and totaled a 4-over 220. Vanessa Borovilos tied for 16th and Natalie Yen rounded out the group tied for 31st.
The Aggies return to the course Oct. 7-8 at the NB3 Matchplay at Twin Warriors to look for their third-straight tournament title.
