Get to Know: Taylor Brown
Sep 15, 2025 | Softball
Sophomore Taylor Brown joined the Aggies last summer. The Washington, Missouri, native, was a two-time Gatorade Missouri Softball Player of the Year winner in high school, committing to A&M, redshirting as a freshman.
Get to know one of the Aggies below.
After redshirting last season what was something that you learned the most during that process?
"I learned patience and hard work is something you have to stick to if you want to be good. It showed me I have to work for what I want and that you get out what you put in."
What are your individual and team goals for this season?
"I want to hit the pitching goals I have. Basics like throwing harder, hitting spots and getting movement. As a team being closer, bonding and getting farther than last year but overall having a super close team."
Coach Ford is known as a pitching guru across the nation, what's it like working with her and in what area has she challenged you the most?
"Working with Coach Ford is amazing! She knows her stuff and challenges us everyday. We don't just throw to throw, we do it for a reason and have intent behind everything we do. She motivates us and gets the most out of us."
What is your favorite Aggie tradition?
"The Aggie Ring and Rink Dunk is my favorite tradition"
At what point in your recruitment process did you decide to commit to Texas A&M?
"I committed on my visit. I had taken a couple of other visits, went to a camp and had a short visit after here in A&M. I remember standing in the bullpen saying 'this is the place for me, I love this place'."
If you had to survive in a store for 100 days, where would it be?
"Target easily, the clothes are good, I'm also a huge reader so the books are going to be good. They have food, trendy stuff, my type of vibe. I think I could survive because it has everything I need."
Where is your favorite place to eat?
"Burger Mojo, I love a good smashburger and their awesome sauce"
Do you have any pregame superstitions?
"Last year around the time of the postseason, we had handshakes with our bullpen catchers. We'd do the handshakes then bullpen catching."
If you could eat dinner with any person, past or present who would it be?
"Alex Earle, I love her, I watch all her tiktoks and videos. It would be so fun to learn from her, she knows what she's doing on the social media side of things, learning from her would be really cool."
If you were tasked with the job of choosing Coach Ford's walk-up song, what song would it be and why?
"A song that is hard rock, getting to business and not messing around. Coach Ford is there to win and get stuff done.
