SENIOR (2016-17): Named to the American Quarter Horse Association NCEA Academic Honorable Mention Team … Concluded the season with six victories in Horsemanship … Had a five-meet win streak from Oct. 22 – Feb. 10 … Recorded a season-high score of 77 at Georgia … Named to the SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll.
JUNIOR (2015-16): Went 7-7-1 in Horsemanship with an MOP … Began the season with four-straight wins … Named MOP after scoring a 77.5 against South Carolina on Oct. 29 … Named to the Beval Saddlery Honorable Mention Academic Team and Winter SEC Academic Honor Roll.
SOPHOMORE (2014-15): Earned four victories in ten starts … Scored a team-high 76 in a close loss to Auburn … Brought home two MOP honors with victories against South Dakota State (75-74) and South Carolina in the SEC Championship first round (149-1148.5) … Finished the season with back-to-back victories at the SEC Championship, including a 147.5-141.5 win in the final … Named to the NCEA Academic second team.
FRESHMAN (2013-2014): Competed 7 times during the season and finished with an average score of 71.40… garnered her first career Most Outstanding Player accolade in horsemanship against No. 3 Auburn…tied for third in the team’s western horsemanship season scores with a high score of 76.5 accumulated during her MOP performance…earned a seat on the 2014 All-Freshman Team, her first conference honor of her career.
PERSONAL: Rachel Lee Lucht is the daughter of Paul and Stacy Lucht of College Station, Texas… born April 7, 1995 … has an older brother, Jacob, Class of 2014… majoring in Mechanical Engineering… a 2013 graduate of A&M Consolidated High School in College Station… served as the Brazos County 4-H Horse Club President prior to enrolling at Texas A&M… has multiple titles under her belt-buckle, including World Champion Hunter in Hand Geldings and Reserve World Champion in both Hunt Seat Equitation and English Showmanship at the Appaloosa Youth World Show… enjoys spending time with friends, and watching TV and movies.
