Longtime Major League Soccer standout Marc Burch joined Texas A&M as a member of Bobby Shuttlworth’s initial staff in December 2025.
Burch arrived in Aggieland after working in various roles at Colorado’s premier youth soccer club since 2022. He served as Albion SC Colorado’s MLS Next director and college placement director. He also coached the club’s USL League Two squad Albion SC Colorado/Boulder County United.
The Cincinnati native played 273 professional matches over 14 seasons. He ranged all over the field during his playing days, starting his career as a forward before later seeing action as a defender and midfielder.
Burch enjoyed a 12-year playing career in MLS. After being selected in the 2006 draft, he saw action with the LA Galaxy, Columbus Crew, D.C. United, Seattle Sounders, Colorado Rapids. He appeared in 234 matches
During his time with D.C. United, he won the MLS Supporters’’ Shield in 2007 and the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup in 2008. Burch earned spots on the MLS Team of the Week twice with the Colorado Rapids during the 2016 campaign.
Burch wound down his playing career with Memphis 901 FC, playing two seasons as a team captain.
Collegiately, Burch played three seasons at Evansville from 2002-04, followed by one year at Maryland. He keyed the Terrapins win the 2005 College Cup. Burch scored the lone goal in a championship game victory over New Mexico on a 25-yard free kick. He tallied four goals and six assists with Maryland. Burch registered seven goals and 22 assists in his time with the Purple Aces.
