Postgame Quotes and Notes
Billy Gillispie:
"Tonight was a good win for us. Jacksonville is a hard team to guard especially off the dribble. We made some really good plays tonight but we also made some mistakes. I did not expect them to get 20 offensive rebounds but when you guard the dribbler like we do that happens. We also had nine blocks which kind of evens that out. We are still a work in progress, we have a long way to go but we are getting better every day. We are still trying to figure out who will play and when and what the rotation will be. Joe (Jones) looked as healthy as he has all year tonight so that's a good thing."
(on Marlon Pompey) "He maybe forces too much, just needs to slow down a little. He is very vital to us offensively and defensively. He is probably even a better offensive player than he thinks he is.
(on Derrick Roland) "Roland has really improved. He has a very good work ethic, he always works before practice and after practice. He has already come a long way. He should be a very good defender he's just still trying to figure out where screens are coming from and those kinds of things. He's good in the open court, and he's a good shooter. I would like to have about 10 of him if I could."
