
Aggie Equestrian Remains Unbeaten After Road Win over Baylor

WACO, Texas--The second-ranked Texas A&M equestrian team remained undefeated on the season after defeating eighth-ranked Baylor, 11-8, Friday afternoon at the Willis Family Equestrian Center.
The teams were tied heading into the final event of the day, reining, where the Aggies (5-0) won four of the five matchups to seal the victory. The Bears fell to 4-4 with the loss.
En route to the victory, Texas A&M took MVP honors in all four disciplines for the first time this year.
The A&M hunter seat squad suffered a 6-4 setback despite a higher raw score total. Junior Lia Chafee earned MVP honors over fences in a three-point loss to Baylor's Kara Fergusson. On the flat, sophomore Emily Williams continued her hot start to the season by picking up her second MVP honor of the year, downing Fergusson 89-81.
The Aggies' national champion western squad posted a convincing 7-2 victory over Baylor to close out the competition. Sophomore Carey Nowacek led the horsemanship riders to victory, defeating Meghan Murphy 76-72.5 to earn MVP accolades. In reining, sophomore Becca Murray's 70.5-69.5 win over Katie Buss took MVP honors and was the victory-clinching ride.
Texas A&M will close the fall portion of its schedule on Saturday, Nov. 20 against Kansas State. Show time at the Brazos County Expo Complex in Bryan is set for 10 a.m.
