
Top-Ranked Aggies Wrap Undefeated Fall Season, Down K-State 16-8

BRYAN, Texas - The No. 1-ranked Texas A&M equestrian team completed an undefeated fall season with a 16-8 win Saturday afternoon over sixth-ranked Kansas State at the Brazos County Expo Complex.
Junior Lia Chafee led the charge for the Aggies (6-0), earning MVP honors both over fences and on the flat with scores of 88 and 90, respectively. A&M won all four disciplines on the afternoon to hand the Wildcats (4-5) their third straight loss.
In horsemanship, Carey Nowacek kept up her winning ways with a 74.5-68.5 victory that earned the sophomore her third straight MVP honor.
Sophomore Emma Myers took home MVP accolades in reining following a 67-point ride. She headlined a 5-1 win for the reiners that sealed the overall team victory.
Overall, the hunter seat riders topped K-State, 7-5, and the two-time national champion western team downed KSU, 9-3.
Texas A&M resumes action in the spring, where the Aggies will hold two home shows and play host to the Big 12 Championship in April. A&M opens the spring season on Friday, Jan. 28 against South Carolina.
