COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The third-ranked Texas A&M equestrian team extended its home win streak to 22 shows with a 14-9 win over No. 6 Kansas State Friday afternoon at the Brazos County Expo Complex.
The Aggies (8-4) claimed three of the four MVP honors on the day in downing the Wildcats (4-4) for the fifth straight time.
On the hunter seat side, A&M rode to a 6-6 draw but took the victory in a raw-score tiebreaker. Over fences, sophomore Brittney Dodson picked up her first MVP honor, defeating K-State's Kali Yates, 83-69.
The western squad, meanwhile, dropped the Wildcats 8-3. The horsemanship riders continued their hot streak by winning four of the five points scored (one ride was a draw). Senior Caroline Gunn extended her school record by tallying her 20th career MVP award in a 77.5-74 victory over Caley Coffey. The Aggie reiners, meanwhile, took four of the six possible points as well.
A&M returns to action on Saturday, March 6 when the Aggies host Oklahoma State. Show time is 11 a.m. at the Expo Complex.
