
No. 5 Women Move To 3-0; Win Maggie Dixon Classic

CHICAGO- The No. 5 Texas A&M women's basketball team had 17 points from Maggie Dixon Classic MVP Courtney Walker, as the Aggies captured the tournament title with a 63-61 win over UTPA in McGrath-Phillips Arena on Sunday.
Walker, who averaged 20.7 points in the tournament, was named the tournament's MVP. Jordan Jones, who had 10 points and six assists Sunday, was also named to the All-Maggie Dixon Classic team.
Achiri Ade had a career-high 16 rebounds, which led the game. She has nine career double digit rebound games.
UTPA (1-2) jumped out to a 10-2 lead, and led by as many as 12 points in the first half. The Broncs led 40-33 at halftime. The Aggies (3-0) responded immediately after the break, using an 11-2 run, sealed by a Courtney Walker jumper to take a 44-42 lead. The Broncs briefly led 46-44, but the Aggies countered with a 7-0 run to go ahead for good.
The Aggies return home to Reed Arena on November 19 to host former Southwest Conference foe Rice at 7 p.m. in the Aggie's home opener, with coverage on SEC Network Plus, only on WatchESPN.
