No. 3 Texas A&M downs No. 5 Oklahoma State, 12-8

COLLEGE STATION – The No. 3 Texas A&M equestrian team defeated No. 5 Oklahoma State, 12-8, Saturday at the Hildebrand Equine Complex. With the win, the Aggies move to 9-2 (3-2 SEC) on the season.
"I am very happy with how we competed today," head coach Tana McKay said. "We were very consistent in all four events, which I was pleased with. We are excited to get back to practice this week to prepare for our final SEC meet of the regular season."
The Aggies jumped out to a quick 3-2 lead after Equitation over Fences. Sophomore Rachel Hake scored the first point of the day with a 78-74 victory over Katie Jones. Junior Haley Webster followed suit, scoring a 75 to win her point, before senior Marlena Parker claimed A&M's third and final point in the event with a 73-69 win over Maggie Drysch.
A&M took a 6-4 lead heading into the half, winning Horsemanship, 3-2. Junior Rachel Lucht began the event with a 75-74.5 victory over Ebba Lange. Sophomore Avery Ellis won her point 63.5-0 over Miranda Reed, before senior Carolyn Day defeated Paris Nottingham, 74-69.
Texas A&M won Equitation on the Flat, 3-2 for its seventh win in Hunt Seat this season. Senior Audrey Gallagher topped Carly Barrick, 77-67. Sophomore Alex Desiderio earned MOP honors in her 86-79 win over Amy White. Senior Hannah Williams defeated Katie Jones, 83-67, to close out the event.
Senior Hannah Jechow began Reining with a 71-70.5 victory over Ebba Lange followed by junior Sarah Kate Grider's 66-65.5 win over Erin Willoughby to clinch the win for the Aggies. Senior Logan Pluhar edged out Julia Purus, 69-66, to earn her third MOP honor of the season.
The Aggies will hit the road Saturday for its final SEC meet of the regular season against No. 1 Auburn at 1 p.m. CT.
