
Top-Ranked Aggies Open Spring Season at New Mexico State

COLLEGE STATION – The No. 1 Texas A&M equestrian team travels to Las Cruces to face New Mexico State at 11 a.m. CT on Saturday in the squad's first meet of the spring season.
The Maroon and White closed the fall slate with a 5-1 record, defeating UT Martin, South Carolina, South Dakota State, Georgia and Delaware State.
Texas A&M is led by junior Maddie Swem, who posted a 5-0-1 record in Equitation on the Flat and was named the SEC Rider of the Month in September. Junior Rachael Hake paces the Aggies in Equitation over Fences with a 5-1 mark.
Senior Kaci Fisher holds a 5-1 record in Horsemanship with three MOPs and was named the NCEA Shorty's Horsemanship Rider of the Month in November. The Abilene, Texas, native leads the Horsemanship group that posted a perfect 10-0 record in November. Junior Madison Bohman and senior Sarah Kate Grider bolster 5-1 records, leading the team in Reining.
New Mexico State enters the meet with a 3-4 record and are coming off a 12-4 victory against West Texas A&M.
Saturday's meet with be the eighth between the two teams with Texas A&M holding a 7-0 advantage.
