Texas A&M is looking to avenge a 54-53 loss to SMU from a season ago, a game where the Aggies were down 16 points in the first half and down 10 with five minutes left. The Aggies clawed all the way back to within a point, but the potential game-winning shot missed, giving SMU their first win against the Aggies since 1998.
The Aggies are 7-2 at home this season, and are 153-5 against unranked teams at home since February of 2005. Danni Williams, who was named to the Duel in the Desert All-Tournament Team, has posted back-to-back 20+ point games, and is averaging 15.1 points per game on the season.
SMU has posted a 5-1 home record this season, but are looking for their first true road win of the season. The Mustangs have held five straight opponents to 60-or-fewer points, and are holding opponents to a 33.8 field goal percentage, which leads the American Athletic Conference. The Mustangs reached the Third Round of the WNIT in 2016-17.
After this game, the Aggies begin SEC play, heading to No. 4 South Carolina on Sunday, with coverage set for SEC Network at 1 p.m. CT.
