NASHVILLE- No. 15 Texas A&M women's basketball begins its SEC Tournament on Thursday, March 1, taking on Arkansas in the SEC Second Round inside Bridgestone Arena. Tip is set for 25 minutes after the Alabama/Kentucky game, which will be approximately 2 p.m.
The game is broadcast on SEC Network, with Courtney Lyle, Tamika Catchings and Steffi Sorensen on the call. The No. 5 seed Aggies (22-8, 11-5 SEC) won their last two games by a combined 63 points, defeating Arkansas 104-60 on Feb. 22, and then-No. 11 Missouri 82-63 on Feb. 25. The Aggies' 44-point win against Arkansas was the biggest margin of victory for A&M in an SEC game since 2013, and the 19-point differential against Missouri was the largest for the Aggies against a ranked SEC opponent since joining the league.
Chennedy Carter leads the Aggies, and all Division I freshmen, with 21.6 points per game. She was named SEC Freshman of the Year on Tuesday, and picked up First Team All-SEC honors. Khaalia Hillsman, averaging 14.7 points per game, was named Second Team All-SEC.
Overall, the Aggies are 7-4 in the SEC Tournament, winning the event in 2013 and advancing to three semifinals in five years. Since current head coach Gary Blair was hired in 2003-04, Texas A&M is 21-11 in conference tournaments with three tournament titles.

The Aggies and Razorbacks are meeting in a conference tournament for the first time since the 1988 Southwest Conference Tournament, where the Aggies took a 59-58 quarterfinal victory for the first conference tournament win in program history.
The winner of this game faces No. 4 seed LSU in the SEC Tournament Quarterfinals, Friday, March 2 at approximately 2 p.m.
