Nov 22, 2024 | Women's Basketball
PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas – The Texas A&M women's basketball team is set play the first-round game against Villanova Saturday at 8 p.m. in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament at Imperial Arena at Atlantis Paradise Island Bahamas.
The Aggies (3-2) are coming off a 75-54 win over Northwestern State (Nov. 17). Jada Malone registered a career performance with 24 points on 10-of-13 shooting, nine rebounds, four steals and three blocks. The outing marked the second time that the redshirt junior has led the team in scoring from the bench this season.
The A&M defense has been bolstered by its ability to protect the rim as the No. 7 ranked team in the country in blocks per game (6.8). Leading that effort are Lauren Ware and Aicha Coulibaly who both average 1.8 swats per game. In all three of A&M's wins this season, it has held its opponent to under 35% from the field.
