Women’s Basketball Hits the Road to Take on Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE – The Texas A&M women's basketball team is set for a road trip to Arkansas for a 6:30 p.m. tip inside Bud Walton Arena Thursday night.
The Aggies (10-9, 3-4 SEC) have the No. 4 NET Strength of Schedule in the country, according to warrennolan.com, and have played eight ranked opponents so far this season. They have won two of those ranked matchups and will be seeking its first true road win of the year at Arkansas.
The Maroon & White defense has turned up the heat during conference play, ranking No. 2 in the league in 3-point field goal percentage (26.5%) and No. 3 in overall field goal percentage (39.2%). Over the last three games, teams are shooting a dismal 16.1% from beyond the arc and 33.5% overall.
Texas A&M's defense is bolstered by its ability to protect the rim, as it comes in as the No. 12 team in the country in blocks per game (5.4). Lauren Ware leads that effort with 1.9 swats per contest.
