Nov 20, 2025 | Volleyball
BIRMINGHAM – Texas A&M volleyball's Tatum Thomas was named to the SEC Community Service Team, the league announced Thursday.
Thomas has been as asset to the community since her arrival in Aggieland, as the senior has taken part in a plethora of initiatives to help aid the Brazos Valley. One focus of hers is helping the youth in the area, as she is heavily involved in the local initiative 'Revved up to Read' promoting literacy in the local area, while also partaking in and encouraging teammates to join efforts in embracing 'Read Across America' Week.
Adding to her focus on the younger generation in the local area, the libero helped design and decorate lunch bags for children ages 1 to 5 in the Greater Houston community, with the goal of leaving something inspiring and hopeful for those in need of meal assistance. She also spearheaded the cause game this season, where she was the representative helping coordinate the Aggies' 'Turn it Gold' match to raise money and efforts that go towards the fight against childhood cancer.
Her volunteering also spans into the military service sector, as she took part in an opportunity that involved creating cards, making blankets and assembling care packages for soldiers as part of the Men's Final Four event in San Antonio.
Joining her service off the court with production on it, Thomas plays an important role for the Aggies as one of the two liberos on the team, specifically leading the group from the service line. The senior has recorded over 80 aces in her career and is closing in on 900 digs, forming a steady presence in the Maroon & White's backcourt defense.
